How do you make one of the most forgiving clubs ever made even more forgiving? There's a simple solution: Make the face bigger. Extended Face Technology increases the height of the face to deliver a wider strike zone, more forgiveness and better performance on mis-hits
The cambered Tri-Sole Design delivers the versatility to perform from every type of lie. Whether it's a fluffy lie in the rough or a bare lie in the fairway, you can swing with confidence.
Fueled by the Velocity Slot, watch your ball take flight with ease. Located on the sole of the club directly behind the face, this open slot is designed to increase face flexibility, ball speeds and forgiveness.
The clubhead appears larger from address to inspire confidence without sacrificing a low-profile design with a shallow face. Ultimately, Tight Lies has a lower CG for higher launch conditions and large face area for even better forgiveness.
Every once in a while, a product comes along and changes an entire industry. That was the case with the original 1995 AdamsGolf™ Tight Lies™ Fairway. Its release catapulted Adams onto the international golf equipment stage and captivated golfers at all levels of the game.
The breakthrough design featured an “upside-down” clubhead with a trapezoidal sole that allowed the club to cut through any lie. Labeled Tri-Sole, this design made the club highly versatile and playable from virtually any lie on the golf course. Due to the versatility, it became a sought-after replacement for hard-to-hit long irons – essentially making it one of the earliest hybrids.
Many of the design elements you find in today's fairway woods and hybrids owe thanks to Tight Lies™. The Tri-Sole Design worked in unison with the shallow face to lower the club's center of gravity and produce higher launching shots. Some of those things might sound familiar.
Over the years, Tight Lies™ Fairway Woods took on a few new looks but always remained true to its origin. A fairway wood that was easy to hit, easy to play and that made the game easy to enjoy.
We build upon that rich history as we introduce the 2020 Adams® Tight Lies™ Fairway wood. This modern take on one of the classics features tech upgrades like Extended Face Construction and the Velocity Slot to boost performance. Even with the changes, the essence remains the same. This club provides golfers the versatility and playability to approach any lie with confidence.

Choosing between the 3-wood and 5-wood comes down to personal choice. As a general rule of thumb, a 3-wood with 16° of loft will travel farther than a 5-wood with 19° of loft. Because of the higher loft, the 5-wood is easier to strike confidently and the ball will get airborne faster. With Adams® Tight Lies™, both the 3- and 5-woods offer great performance. With the Velocity Slot, Tri Sole design and Extended Face Technology, you will be confident hitting either.
